For his crimes, Nilsen was sentenced to life imprisonment, which he served until his death in 2018. Despite killing 12 people that we know of, he was convicted of six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. ![]() Dennis Nilsenĭenis Nilsen was a Scottish serial killer who murdered at least 12 young men and boys in London from 1975 to 1983. Her murder weapon of choice was arsenic, a deadly poison. ![]() She also killed 3 out of 4 of her husbands, her motivation being to access their insurance policies. She was executed for poisoning and killing her stepson, but it came to light that she had actually murdered many more people – including 11 out of 13 of her children. One of the few females on the serial killer list, Mary Ann Cotton killed 21 people between 18. He was found to have killed 22 women, and had attempted to murder 7 others. He claimed that God had sent him on a mission to kill prostitutes. Mirroring Jack The Ripper, Sutcliffe’s victims were all women, and many of them were found in ‘Red Light District’ areas. He was sentenced to 20 consecutive life sentences in prison, and died in 2020. With a total of 22 kills, Peter Sutcliffe is the UK’s 2nd most prolific serial killer and is also known most commonly as the Yorkshire Ripper. The majority of his victims were older, widowed women. Once the death certificate was signed, Shipman would edit the victims medical records to make it look like they had been unwell leading up to their ‘untimely’ deaths. He was based in Manchester, and would administer lethal doses of diamorphine to his victims. He was a GP who killed a total of 218 people from 1975 – 1998 – causing a huge scandal amongst the medical community and the general public. ![]() The worst UK serial killer is widely agreed to be Harold Shipman. However, the killers that have targeted the UK public have been particularly gruesome. Whether or not we can fully attribute a person’s urge to kill toward genetics is still up for debate but it’s widely accepted that a difficult upbringing doesn’t help and only serves to enable violent action later in life.Compared to other countries, the UK has not had an abundance of serial killers. A common thread we see among many killers is that they tend to come from abusive households. He, like his son, ended up incarcerated for beating his mistress to death. Robinson’s father was an emotionally and physically abusive alcoholic who had a history of assault. The motion was denied and he’s currently awaiting execution. In 2006, he was sentenced to death despite his efforts to have the sentence eased on the grounds he was a juvenile when he committed his heinous acts. He intended to take her back home to kill her. Robinson was caught by police who were in search of one a woman who had gone missing whom he had in his car at the time of the stop. Harvey Miguel Robinson was 17 years old when he first raped and then took the lives of three women in Allentown, PA. That’s why today we’re going to take a look at some of the youngest killers ever. But nature has a way of producing anomalies where there are norms. But how often do we ask ourselves if they could be the ones we didn’t expect? Children are supposed to be innocent, pure, and playful. More often than not, the reality is stranger than fiction. In the 70s and 80s, it infected every aspect of both the city and quiet, old suburbia, leaving everyone scared to stay out past dusk. They were far from scenes of the stereotypical, upwards gazing killer with a furrowed brow, and a maniacal smirk. The Bundy’s, Dahmer’s, Zodiac Killers, and the like. When we think of serial killers, the first images that might’ve flooded your mind, rotating like a stereoscope, were visions of the famous, grizzly, notorious murderers that permeated news and pop culture.
